The first CNG fuel station at Cochin – Inaugurated by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan

Chief Minister Mr Pinarayi Vijayan has inaugurated the first Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fuel station in Kochi. It is as a means of strengthening the KSRTC(Kerala State Road Transport Corporation) bus service as well as to promote the eco-efficiency, the KSRTC has introduced the CNG bus services in the city of Kochi.
After the successful launch of the ‘City Gas’ project which provides ‘Piped Natural Gas’(PNG), to the household, industrial and commercial purposes in Kalamassery, this could be another triumphant tale from the emerging ‘Smart City’.
CNG as a domestic and industrial fuel was introduced in Ernakulam in 2016. About 2500 households have been provided with PNG (Piped Natural Gas) connections in and around Kalamassery.
The Indian Oil Adani Gas Private Limited(IOAGPL), constructed the CNG stations at FACT-Road, Kalamassery, along with the National Highway at Kalamassery and Kundannoor. It is another big step of KSRTC, in order to keep up the green alternative in Kochi.
