Kothi restaurant revives Kerala's long-forgotten recipes.

An enticingly different andunique dining restaurant ‘Kothi’ opened at Kochi, on 16th July, 2017. Serving Kerala’s Nadan and traditional mouthwatering dishes in a modern ambiance. The venue has Nadan and Arabic dishes.
Kothi promises to offer authentic, sophisticated dishes rarely seen in Kochi. The specialties are Attappadipothuperalan, kozhikudampuliyittuvechathu, special kothi fish, Kothi special chakka ennayil porichathu along with chappathi, appam, bread, puttu and kothi special rice, kothi special chakka puttu, etc...
The restaurant is located in Subhash Chandrabose road, nearby SBI jawahar nagar. The recently opened restaurant provides the homely taste and freshness in terms of food as well as decor. The decor and the old melody songs creates the perfect ambiance to dig in to those totally savory dishes.
"We have our own way of doing everything. All are unique tastes and there is no comparison with other restaurants. We take only fresh ingredients and we do no compromise when it comes to the quality of the food", said Mr. Abhishek, who is passionate about what he's doing now. He quit his corporate job to follow his dreams. He also has MBA, in marketing from UK. Last 10 years, he was searching for the final solution and it came to him as ‘Kothi’. Now he is the owner of Kothi restaurant and Managing Partner of Hunger Solutions.
Kothi serves varieties of soups, bread, tandoori bread, puttu, biriyani, rice, chicken, mutton, beef, duck, fish, veg, egg, tandoori, Arabic, tikka, kabab, roll, juice, hot sips, shake, ice creams, nadanmeals and Kothi special dishes.
Head Chef Mr. Prasanth. S makes sure that the cuisines don't overlap any other flavors that you tasted ever and maintains the authenticity and uniqueness of the taste. He said that “The ingredients used in dishes are all natural, no artificial colors and masalas”.
Certain natural products, such kanthrimulaku,Gundu chilli, green pepper and virgin coconut oil, coconut milk etc. are sourced from nearby villages.
The interactive yet not ‘in your face’ kitchen and the list of dishes served at Kothi makes your tummy growl.Without wasting any time, you will quickly place your order. The dishes were unlike any taste of the same I ever had. Kothi special fishes really crispy and the pothu parallan a strong taste of coconut oil and green chilly. And the kozhi kudampuliyittu vechathu really appreciable with a different taste.The courses are complemented with juices like kanthari sarbath which is essentially a spiced up lime juice. Conclude the meal by indulging in a sweet sin. The paal sherbet will take you to a completely different world. Naruneendi sarbath is another juice that will make you dig deeper and deeper.
The menu is not fixed, every day they try to bring out a variety dish.There will be a few additions made to the menu in the near future.
So don’t leave it only as a covet. Walk in to ‘Kothi’ and you will get quality food that is not so cheap at the same time not so expensive.
