Olympic Mass Run 2017 Flagged Off

Olympic day is much more than just a sports event, it is a day for the world to get active, learn about Olympic values and discover new sports. Based on the three pillars move, learn and discover, national Olympic committees are organizing sports, cultural and educational activities throughout the world.
A mass runs to mark the Olympic day celebrations was organized in the city on Friday by the district Olympic Association.The run that began from the Kaloor international stadium was inaugurated by Olympian T.C Yohanan, flagged off by Olympian T. Mercykutty and the oath of the Olympic day was administered by Olympian M.D Valsamma.
The Olympic mass run saw the participation of school and college students, sports communities, sports personalities and prominent persons. Hibi Eden MLA, Kerala Olympic Association president M.M. Abdul Rahman, district Olympic association president Joshy Pallan and Deputy Mayor T.J Vinod were among those who participated. This mass run upholds the fight against terrorism, communal divide, and racism.
The mass runs paved its way through Boat Jetty and Shanmugham Road before ending at the Marine Drive helipad. Approximately 1200 people including students participated in the run making it a success.
