1.Who was Joseph Annamkutty Jose before he becomes a social media celebrity?
I did my schooling in a Malayalam medium school. After which I joined Christ College, Bangalore to study B.Com. I met many friends, started reading a lot of books, I was able to widen my vision, I got more exposure which helped me to think beyond my limitations. After B.Com I joined MBA at SCMS, Kochi. After MBA I joined Kancor Ingredients as system manager but resigned after three years to pursue my passion.
2.You have been tagged with an ideal boy image, but every coin has two sides. Is there another side of Jose?
I have many friends, but still, I stay detached to many. I have a close circle of friends and relatives whom I like to be attached with always and I think that is my bad as well as good character.
And the second thing is that I am a lazy person.
3.What is your passion?
My passion has always been writing. I wrote my autobiography, ‘Buried Thoughts’ at the age of 27. The book became a best seller as people loved it when I wrote about my life explicitly.
4.Was becoming RJ your dream come true?
I have a terrible voice so the question of becoming an RJ never came to me. But after my videos went viral, I got a call from Radio Mirchi 104 FM and they gave me an opportunity to host ‘Straight from the heart’ which was earlier presented only by celebrities. That is my simple story of how I became RJ Jo.
5.How was the experience of acting in a film for the first time?
I am not a big actor. I prefer saying that I participated in the short film than saying that I acted in one. I really enjoyed my stint in ‘Oru Kumbasaa Rahasyam’ and rest all the credits for this short film goes to the group effort. There was no fear or nervousness when I stood in front of the camera, thanks to John Pius, director and the entire team for creating a very friendly atmosphere and making me feel really comfortable.
6.What is the storyline of ‘Oru Kumbasara Rahasyam’?
I acted in this short film to break my image. But the story of the short film has no connection with my life. I have similar mannerism to that of the character which I have played in this short film, but that’s it. More than the story, I liked the way how John narrated the story. ‘Oru Kumbasara Rahasyam’ is a simple, beautiful short film with no suspense thriller or melodrama.
