“Varakalil Mahatma” held at Global Public School, Al-Ameen Public School and Rajagiri Higher Secondary School

Global Public School, Thiruvaniyoor is organizing a week long exhibition to mark Gandhiji's 150th birth anniversary celebration. The exhibition is part of the Kerala Cartoon Academy's “Varakalil Mahatma”, a state exhibition series; and the centenary celebration of Malayalam cartoons. The inauguration of “Varakalil Mahatma” at Global Public School, Thiruvaniyoor was performed by Sri. Sajjive Balakrishnan (Cartoonist; Limca Book Winner; India Book of Records Winner and Income Tax Deputy Commissioner, Kochi). Mentor Lakshmi Ramachandran, Principal Sreekumar Karta, Head Admin Function Usha Menon, Vice Principal Susanna Sunil, Enrichment Head Shameem Mohammed and Art Teacher Chandrababu were also present on the occasion. Cartoons of many children were drawn. Among the 100 Gandhi cartoons that were displayed at GVS, Thiruvaniyoor, the children were fascinated by the cartoons of Shankar, Abu, Kutty, Yesudasan, Sukumar, P V Krishnan and others. There are also Gandhi paintings by school children. The inauguration of “Varakalil Mahatma” at Al-Ameen Public School, Edappally was performed by Sri. Sudheer Nath (Cartoonist) and the exhibition at Rajagiri Higher Secondary School, Kalamassery was inaugurated by Sri. K Unnikrishnan (Chairman, Kerala Cartoon Academy). Art teacher M P Manoj also participated in the function at Rajagiri Higher Secondary School, Kalamassery. The exhibition is being conducted simultaneously at Global Public School, Thiruvaniyoor; Al-Ameen Public School, Edappally and Rajagiri Higher Secondary School, Kalamassery from 3rd October 2019 to 11th October 2019 and is curated by Sri. Chandrababu.
